Students's artistic perfonmances. Representaciones artísticas de los estudiantes

During the visit of the Icelandic students to IES Antonio Machado in March 2010, a new activity, which had not initially been planned in the project , took place. Many of the students at both ends were interested in musicals and had prepared some numbers for their respective schools. They decided to put up a special performance for each other at the Machado's theatre. 1st bachillerato students from A.Machado were also invited to the show.
The Icelandic students sang some beautiful Icelandic songs and performed a choreography of Thriller, by Michael Jackson. The Spaniards performed different choreographies and also sang some songs and made some funny sketches. The performance was a great success. You can watch some short videos and see some photos from that show below.

Webquests on Iceland and on Alcalá de Henares and Madrid

Another activity we prepared previous to the visits to each other's countries was a webquest where students had to search for information relative to different aspects of the other country and later present it to their classmates so that when they visited the other country, they had already some information about it and could enjoy the visit more thoroughly.

Information about Iceland. Información sobre Islandia

The Icelandic students have made ilustrated  brochures for their Spanish counterparts and have proposed several visits, excursions and activities in Iceland. The brochures appear with the name of the student who made them.

Personal projects. Proyectos personales

One of the main activities of this project was the research on certain topics made by the students and the presentations they made for everybody's benefit. These presentations allowed the students from the other country to become familiar with their e-pals, with their families, their habits, their traditions and culture.
The students, either individually or in groups, chose a topic of their interest, researched it in the internet, in newspapers and magazines and did some fieldwork. They presented their information through powerpoint presentations, videos or photos usin the etwinning platform. They also presented that information to the rest of the group during the respective visits to Alcalá and Reykjavik. You can have a look using the links below.

Survival Kit. Diccionarios trilingües

You can see below some examples of the trilingual dictionaries we called "survival kits" which were jointly made by the students in both countries. These kits contain basic words and sentences to comunicate in Spanish, English and Icelandic which would be used by both groups in their respective exchange trips.  The words  and expressions were writen and spoken in the three languages.

Click on the link of the topic you want to explore and  choose the presentation mode for the powerpoint presentation to be able to read and hear properly.
